Ziegler CAT has an opening for a full-time, experienced Machinist/Welder.
We are looking for a dedicated employee with excellent manual machining skills to help deliver top notch service to our rapidly growing customer base.
Responsibilities:
Approximately 75% Machinist duties:
Perform manual machining duties in a shop settingRespond to customer needs in a positive, supportive, and timely manner to ensure maximum value for work performedMaintains a clean and safe work area, adhere to all safety proceduresFollows standard operating proceduresCleans and organizes equipmentAttends formal trainingProvides assistance to all other levels of technicians as needed in regards to machining dutiesPerforms other duties as assigned/requiredMaintains paperwork documentation of work performed (work orders) in a complete and timely manner on a daily/job basisDocuments labor, addition of segments, assuring that work order can be closed and billed as communicated with the customerPositively interacts with manager and team members to satisfy customer needsCommunicates effectively with customers, both internal and externalApproximately 25% welding duties:
Perform welding and fabricationMaintain equipment such as dressing welding electrodes, oiling/greasing, machine settings, changing of tooling, and other adjustments as necessary
Qualifications:
2-year technical degree or high school diploma/GED and several years of comparable shop mechanic experience2
years of relevant manual machining experienceAble to operate spot welder, arc welder, plasma TIG welder, MIG welder, cutting torch, power grinder, power sander, hand-tools, bandsaw, drills, temporary fixturing devices, and other metal-fabrication equipmentExperience with gauging and measuring preferredAble to read dimensional blue printsPersonal attributes:
attention to detail, efficiency, problem solving, planning and organization, team playerWritten and verbal communication skillsBasic computer skillsOwn mechanic tool setAbility to maintain safe and clean work environmentThis role is deemed safety-sensitive and will be subject to a drug test as a pre-employment requirementAbout the Company:
