We are seeking a dedicated Quality Improvement Nurse to join our Prairie Vista Village team! The Quality Improvement Nurse assists in the supervision and administration of the quality of nursing care for Prairie Vista Village.
The Quality Improvement Nurse is responsible for the quality improvement activities in the nursing department and assists the staff to facilitate a physical, social and psychological environment conducive to the best interest and welfare of the residents.
Duties and
Responsibilities:
Understand the relationship of this position to the facility mission and to other jobs within the PVV campus.
Work with co-workers, supervisors and staff from all departments to solve problems and to improve processes and services.
Develop methods to track and trend key performance indicators within nursing department in accordance with the QAPI plan, determine presence or absence of opportunities for improvement of care and services, and implement corrective action when warranted in collaboration with the Director of Nursing.
Track and trend all unusual occurrences, determine root causes, evaluate interventions and preventative measures, develop and implement QAPI action plans as needed, reporting to the QAPI team as indicated.
Regularly review care plans, medication and treatment administration records, nurse aide charting and other documentation to identify opportunities to improve systems.
Review information from surveys, resident council, care conferences and make recommendations to the Director of Nursing for QAPI action plans in effort to improve quality of care and services.
Actively participate in the QAPI and QAA committees, reporting on QAPI activities as required.
Inspect drug storage and medication rooms routinely to ensure compliance with regulations and professional standards.
Train staff to increase safe practices and promote safety consciousness.
Identify and act on opportunities to help and support work efforts of co-workers and staff from all departments in order to improve work processes, efficiency and quality.
Complete admission process for new residents including assessments, charting and medication reconciliation.
Supervise meal times to ensure assistance is provided as necessary.
Responsible to support DON in evaluation of staff, including appropriate disciplinary measures.
Assist DON with implementation of guidelines and procedures for the nursing department.
Participate in committees as assigned, all in-service meetings and CEUs as required.
Perform nurse duties for Prairie Vista Village as needed.
Participate in the on-call rotation.
Work as a charge nurse or CNA as needed.
Back up transportation of residents to appointments.
Perform all other duties as assigned by the Director of Nursing or Executive Director.
This is an Interim need at this time with the possiblity to apply in the future
Qualifications:
The Quality Improvement Nurse must be a licensed nurse from an accredited college, be currently licensed in the appropriate state without encumbrance, be responsible for maintaining professional licensure and CEU requirements.
It is preferred that the Quality Improvement Nurse has 1- 2 years of supervisory experience in a geriatric setting.
Current CPR certification is also required.
